The Teeling team in Dublin have gone and released the third expression in their Renaissance range, celebrating the renaissance which Irish whiskey is experiencing. For this expression, the 18 year old single malt was initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels, before being transferred over to ex-Muscat wine barrels! Once again, Teeling has created a richly satisfying whiskey, with ripe orchard fruit and creamy vanilla, with juicy red berry notes popping up along the way.
Red apple and peach, with a tangy hint of mango thrown in for good measure. Plenty of vanilla-rich barley notes, too.
Stewed plums with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg, cedar, mint leaf, chewy raisin, caramel chunk ice-cream.
Still packed with dried fruit, plus peanut brittle and rounded malt.
