A blended whisky from The House of Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Toki has a different composition to another Suntory blend, Hibiki, as its main components are Hakashu single malt and Chita grain whisky. It should work really well in a highball.
Fun fact: 'Toki' means 'time' in Japanese.
Soft orchard fruits and thyme honey are joined by a helping of peppermint in the backdrop.
More green apple on the palate leads along bright citrus notes from pink grapefruit. Bitter herbs, toasted almonds and vanilla oak linger underneath.
White pepper and ginger add spice to the finish.
Never get headaches - drink alot of whisky but this one killed me an a friend. Solid whiskey drinkers !. Flavour was unenjoyable conversation was involved every sip ... Like jesus this is bad ! Rotten headache I'm morning to tee it off aswel. Just get some Habiki an leave it at that .
This was my first time trying Japanese whisky, and I was very impressed. Pleasant aromas of honey and pine resin carry through onto the palate, where floral notes, a hint of citrus, and a slight pepper spice join them. I'm definitely in unfamiliar territory here, as my go-to is any bottle full of smoke and peat from Islay, but I found this very pleasant and easy to drink. I'll certainly be back for more! I was still determining what to expect but enjoyed my first Japanese whisky experience.
Enjoyed this, was a bit of a surprise, its a golden sort of sweeter, subtle taste. I preferred it neat to be honest. With mix / tonic it seems for me to get overpowered. So perhaps I will experiment and resort to watering down rather than my usual go to mix. Would buy again however, just for the different take on the whiskey taste
It was my first time trying this: it was very light and a bit too sweet. I prefer more smokey peaty flavours and this is a citrus light bodied whisky. Not my favourite but ok for casual drinks. I had it on its own and made a homemade cocktail with a litte ginger ale which was not too bad.
Thought we would try this whisky as heard some good things about ones from Japan. This did not disappoint , found it to be nice and smooth and mild , not so much of the burn of other whisky’s .on its own , with ice or mixer , it tastes good. would buy again .
