A blended whisky from The House of Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Toki has a different composition to another Suntory blend, Hibiki, as its main components are Hakashu single malt and Chita grain whisky. It should work really well in a highball.
Fun fact: 'Toki' means 'time' in Japanese.
Soft orchard fruits and thyme honey are joined by a helping of peppermint in the backdrop.
More green apple on the palate leads along bright citrus notes from pink grapefruit. Bitter herbs, toasted almonds and vanilla oak linger underneath.
White pepper and ginger add spice to the finish.

I bought a bottle of Santory TOKI on the advice of a friend. I do like whisky but don't consider myself anything other than a novice when it comes to getting multiple tastes and smells from it. Usually I'm a rum drinker. Anyway, I picked up a bottle of Toki and had my first drink of it along with my friend. As soon as it was poured I sniffed it and could clearly smell fruit, in particular sharp apples. I could also pick out honey and a herby smell but I couldn't pinpoint which one. Upon tasting it I thought it was very subtle, but I could taste apple and some citrus notes. There were other flavours that I could't identify. One thing I do know is that I love it. It has opened up the world of whisky to me. Toki is very much worth a try and for the money you can't go wrong.
Absolutely fantastic right up there ?
A wonderful whisky worth every penny; didn't last long on my drinks cabinet.
Great value. Paid $30. Surprisingly easy going sipper but also great as a highball with club soda. Fruity, crisp green apples, candy sweet, vanilla, honey. I don't get the smoke and bitter herbs others have mentioned. I get a nice subtle candied honey , fruit, and a hint of mint or peppermint in the background. Not as good as pot still Irish , blended scotch, or bourbon for my palate, but a decent dram.
I really got an aftertaste of bitter herbs, I’m not complaining mind, it’s okay but nothing to shout about.
