Single Malt
Strathisla
Scotland
A creamy, thick 12 year old single malt from the Speyside distillery, Strathisla.
The nose is rich and of good body. Some notes of wood oils and resins, rubbed petals, winter spice and cereal sweetness. There are notes of marmalade and hints of bourbon with a thick creaminess. The palate is thick and full. There are notes of thick cream and honeyed raisins. Sultana notes emerge with a little Madeira and mixed peels. The oak develops into the finish, which is fruity and spirity.
I am no expert - but of the malts I have tasted this is certainly the smoothest and the one which I will recommend to all serious whiskey drinkers - but no ice please just straight
GODFATHER of Single malt whisky -except price and recognition. This is my first whisky to start as single malt from Blends and then I was exploring Glenmorangie, Glen Moray & Dalwhinnie. I recommended this product to couple of people in QV none of the customers are known to this wonderful product , they mentioned me about the price. An example and a class of Peaty whisky which is not harsh. It's a delicacy for a get together-BBQ,Indian food & with spicy popcorn and a solo single malt whisky collector. Strong Nose like Burnt Black coffee, liquorice whisky. Tastes like sweetened honey blended with Vanilla. A whisky takes you to Scotland every sip and its my 3rd bottle. Needs a drop of cold spring water or a spoon of crushed ice in very small quantity(half a coffee spoon) just air the whisky If you love single malt and want the feel of Chivas regal with Black label in a proper single malt version here is it.
A SMOOTH AND FRUITY LITTLE NUMBER,CREAMY ON THE TONGUE WITH A WHISPER OF SMOKE AT THE FINISH.A VERY ENJOYABLE WINTER TREAT, HARD TO STOP DRINKING!
Really delicate, yet complex...loved it.
This is a wondferful speysider, full fruity flavour and smooth. I am an Islay fan myself but this is still an excellent dram. I can also say that the distillers are a pleasure to deal with after a problem I had with a bottle.
