Sherry

From Murray McDavid's evocative Cask Craft series comes this sherried Strathdearn, nicknamed Fruity & Spicy. Distilled in the Highlands, it was finished in an oloroso sherry hogshead before bottling, imparting all of the title flavours – and a few more!
Sticky spiced fruitcake, toasted nuts, a touch of balsamic, and cherry jam.
Oily malt, pain au raisin, candied orange peel, and black pepper.
Silky praline, plump raisin, and butterscotch.

A lovely whisky because it’s not a mass produced liquid. Think of the independent stalls at a whisky festival; strong 1st sip opening to flavours described plus rhubarb and vanilla. Probably the right price for the bottle.
Fruity, sweet and a little spicy on the end, this isn't bad, but a little one dimensional compared to other Cask Craft offers from Murray Mcdavid.
Plenty of character, spicy , bargain at the price, very nice
