Douglas Laing
Scotland
This Strathclyde release was charged from a refill barrel after 20 years maturation and bottled in May 2016 as part of Douglas Laing's Old Particular range. It was distilled in April 1996, and has no additional colouring or chill-filtration. There's an outturn of just 187 bottles of this tasty little single grain, so don't let it slip past you!
Among green apples, there's a good slab of vanilla fudge, tobacco and white oak.
Vanilla sweetness, butterscotch and red apples leads, before roasted peanuts and spices of cardamom seed and coriander reveal.
Short and sweet, with crunchy barley sugar, salted caramel and waves of smoke.
