Campbeltown’s cult favourite Kilkerran returns with another batch of its Heavily Peated single malt. We’re looking at a cask makeup of 90% bourbon, 10% sherry – a combo that delivers classic coastal peat, sweet vanilla, and just enough dried fruit to keep it interesting. Punchy, honest, and characterful as ever.
Creamy butterscotch and caramel notes in the beginning, with the development of notes of rye bread and tea leaf.
A familiar oiliness and smokiness is introduced on the palate, with notes of Iberico ham and brandy snaps.
A gentle finish, there are notes of lemon sherbet, honeycomb and mint, with the peat smoke carrying through to the finish.
