Speyside 12YO 1999

A gorgeously malty whisky from the Speyside distillery. This was distilled in Spring 1999 and aged for a full 12 years in a single refill hogshead before bottling in Autumn 2001. It was selected for Douglas Laing's Provenance range, which brings to the fore the importance of season and terroir in whisky making.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose A spicy, aromatic nose with just a tinge of smoke. Notes too of butterscotch and digestive biscuits, a little chamomile and sweet spices.

Palate Rich, creamy and fruity palate - cinnamon, stem ginger, rich gooey toffee, manuka honey and stewed fruit.

Finish Long and nutty - toasted almond and honey.

Overall A rich, malty gem from the Provenance range.
