A gorgeously malty whisky from the Speyside distillery. This was distilled in Spring 1999 and aged for a full 12 years in a single refill hogshead before bottling in Autumn 2001. It was selected for Douglas Laing's Provenance range, which brings to the fore the importance of season and terroir in whisky making.
A spicy, aromatic nose with just a tinge of smoke. Notes too of butterscotch and digestive biscuits, a little chamomile and sweet spices.
Rich, creamy and fruity palate - cinnamon, stem ginger, rich gooey toffee, manuka honey and stewed fruit.
Long and nutty - toasted almond and honey.
A rich, malty gem from the Provenance range.
