Beinn Dubh (pronounced 'Ben doo' and meaning Black Mountain) is a thick, incredibly dark whisky produced at the Speyside distillery.
Caramel, toasty, soy, walnut and burnt raisins.
Almost like cold coffee with dark brown sugar, vanilla and dried fruit.
Toffee and chocolate malt.
Taste as deep as it's colour, rich smooth and almost chocolatey. Often in short supply so always buy when I see it in stock.
Its like marmite you either love it or hate it, I love it and is in my top 10 list along with Dalmore, Miltonduff, John Powers, Edradour, Kavalan, belongs with these because this Dark Angel has a unique taste that I adore.

Feel like an idiot thinking that the dark color was authentic, but it's artificial. I have over 200 bottles of whisky, this will be the first time throwing one bottle away. It is utterly uninteresting and flat. No mouthfeel. Thin, impotent.
I got married a little over 5 years ago. My friends bought me this dark malt telling me how good it was. I tried it, unlike most whisky I have sampled and that is many this malt stuck in my mind all these years. The hotel had a bottle and a half. They had none after the wedding was over. I tried but couldn't find any anywhere until now. Hope you keep some on the shelf. I will need more over the coming years. Fantastic flavours.
