Yet another astonishing single barrel release from Smooth Ambler's Old Scout range. These single barrel bottlings are absolutely brilliant - the folks at Smooth Ambler clearly have immense skill at sniffing out excellent barrels. This one is a 12 year old bourbon, bottled at 47.1% ABV. It's punchy, rye-rich and generally fantastic.

Waffles covered in maple syrup, tobacco, a crackle of black pepper and a hint of forest floor.
More maple syrup, with blackberries and fudge in support. Peppery heat continues, joined by cedar and sandalwood. Dark chocolate tucked away underneath all of it.

This stuff is magic, I usually go for the higher proof stuff but nothing is amiss here. Brilliant nose and palate, not the longest finish but so good anyways
