This is Smokehead with the gloves off. Unlike the original bottling of Islay single malt Scotch whisky, this one isn't filtered (hence the name) and ups the ABV to 46%.
Through rich smoke there's hints of vanilla and stem ginger.
Oily walnuts, dark chocolate, and black pepper percolate through dense smoke.
Dry, with medicinal herbs.

The whisky is nice and soft you are not overpowered by the soft peaty taste. A small amount of Scottish water brings out the full flavour
A pleasant smoky and peaty whisky, but not in the same class as Laphroaig and other Islay malts.
This has become a firm favourite and I am now enjoying my second bottle. Not for the faint-hearted but if you love smoke and peat this is for you. Big, complex and well balanced.
Very drinkable. Be surprised if this wasn't a 5-6yr old Laphroaig
If you're a fan of smokey Islay whiskey then this is a cracking example. Rich, dark, packed with smoke and pear notes that are powerful but subtle at the same time. Seriously toys with your head!!
