Much-loved heavy metal band Slipknot has teamed up with Cedar Ridge Distillery to created Slipknot No.9 Whiskey! Blended by Slipknot's very own Shawn "Clown" Crahan (he can be seen sporting a clown mask when performing, hence the name), the whiskey features Iowa corn as well as a helping of rye, which brings a kick of spice to the fore. Both Slipknot and Cedar Ridge hail from Iowa, and judging by the whiskey they've made together, they seem like a fantastic fit. With that in mind, stick on Slipknot's Iowa album, pour yourself a glass of this and enjoy!
Hefty waves of honey, toasted cornbread and just a touch of smoked paprika.
Toffee apples, chocolate digestives, citrus blossom, cracked black pepper and caraway.
Continued chocolatey notes, with some fragrant florals coming in right at the end.
Nice smooth tasting whiskey with not much afterburn yet more strength than most common whisky. Goes down easier too. Just as expected from the masters at slipknot. A solid 9. Good job Shawn (clown)
Kicks ass!!! As a Slipknot fan I had to get it and thoroughly enjoyed the whiskey!!
Being Scottish born and bred I was unsure about trying No.9, but given I have seen the band live 16 times and have a whole leg devoted to Slipknot tattoos I thought I must at least try it. My completely unbiased view is that I was shocked at the smoothness and sweet after taste. It's no 18 year old Glenlivet but it's definitely one I'll be keeping in my cabinet!!
Not been into whiskey for long and this is my first one that isn't scotch. It's so good!!! So smooth and sweet! I can't always pick out the flavours mentioned in the tasting notes but toffee apples and chocolate digestives came through straight away. It's opened my eyes to new things! ?
one of best whiskies I've had all year. initially I didn't like it as I often find then couple days later found the smooth spicy joy of the corn. not many whiskies I would but again with so many left untried but this for sure
