Sherry

A standout from Signatory’s Small Batch Editions, this 15-year-old mystery Speyside single malt showcases a rich, unpeated, generously sherried profile. Distilled in 2009 and matured in a selection of first and second-fill oloroso sherry butts, it was bottled at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered, and naturally coloured.
Dark cherries, polished oak, and spiced orange peel.
Rich fruitcake, dark chocolate, and nutty toffee, balanced with warming spice.
Long and luscious, with lingering sherried sweetness and hints of espresso.

Nice dram this one..... for the money it's hard to beat if you like the sherry. Imagine if a very famous distillery were to skip the chill filter and not dilute the juice to 40%, it could be this good. Get rid of the hype and marketing costs and there's a very pleasant drink at an affordable price in a Signatory bottle. Thanks Signatory.
It is widely rumoured that this is from a distillery not very far from Craigellachie, that is highly reputed for whiskies benefitting from Oloroso cask maturation. Even from the neck pour, it is immediately apparent the rumours are absolutely true!
No sulphur in this one. Works well at 48.2%. Notes of chocolate, coffee, nuttiness, cherry and sherry oak.
Largely what you’d expect—a nice hit of sherry and cherry, a bit of marzipan, and some coffee-ish aftertaste. Good stuff for a good price.
