A blended whisky all the way from Canada! Signal Hill is made from Canadian corn and barley, and blended with waters from Newfoundland. The whisky is aged in new white oak casks, first-fill bourbon casks and Canadian whisky casks - whew! It's also non-chill filtered.
Sweet honey and vanilla, jammy fruit and warm oak spice.
Rich with a creamy mouthfeel, and sweet notes of raisins and plums and a drizzle of honey.
Long and warming.
If your palate is limited to the more aggressively smoky and peaty whiskies of Speyside and Islay, as lovely as they are, then this probably is not for you. If you’re looking for an inexpensive whisky that offers a sweet taste and warming finish, then this will get the job done. It’s a good example of an entry level Canadian blend done well, and is perfect for sipping on those colder autumn and winter evenings…or mornings….or afternoons…or all three! If you think of long walks, fabulous landscapes, cold winter mornings, and maple syrup when you think of Canada, then this is Canada in a bottle.
I’ve never had a Canadian whisky before that I tried sipping on, disappointed with this one!!! 1st the smell is not very good, the taste of caramel, cloves and underripe fruit yuck, forget about the finish. This is for mixing only in my opinion. I’ll stick with Irish whisky and Single malt scotch, better flavour and complexity, especially Islay and Speyside
The wife recently gifted me a Whisky of the World advent calendar and this was the first sample. Have to agree with the tasting notes, and found this to be a nice, enjoyable whisky. An easy drinker that has found it's way onto my Xmas wish list.
A good one for whisky beginners. Fruity at first with a spicy finish. Up there with the best in this price range.
Best whiskey ever tasted, unfortunate you can not distribute to US, would be a big demand for it!
