Master of Malt's #WhiskySanta has returned to give away free orders, £100 vouchers, tens of thousands of pressies inside packages, and to grant Christmas wishes too!
A variation of the wonderful Sheep Dip Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, made with malt whiskies from the island of Islay. Plenty of classic Islay character runs through its core, and it's still adorned with the picture of a sheep on the label, so all's good here! The name Sheep Dip comes from the olden days when people in the West Country used to make their own whisky and hide it in barrels marked "SD" to avoid paying taxes on it.

My daughter bought me a small bottle of this last year and I really enjoyed it. I don’t usually drink blends but I was so impressed with this I decided to get a full bottle. This is without doubt one of the best peaty whiskies I’ve had, a beautifully floral and honey nose with a mild peaty, fruity, honey and vanilla palate and long finish. Better than a lot of single malts.

Such a good whisky
Smokers palate: I’m usually of the opinion the peatier the better and always a single malt with an age statement, my regular go-to’s tend to be Ardbeg, Caol Ila or Laphroaig, with a good Octomore for special occasions.
This has genuinely made me reassess my preferences though. Pine and smoke on the nose.
A lovely balance of flavours, with sweet apple and toffee from the start and a reassuring but bold layer of peat and smoke running through it.
Salty, sweet apple, pine smoke and a bit of floral herbiness on the finish, which there isn’t as much of as you wish there was.
For the price this is a really nice whisky, admittedly it’s not for everyone, but for an easy drinking whisky to sit and enjoy for an evening this is great. Will definitely be buying again

Excellence well beyond the price.
Surprisingly excellent given the price. Peat and sweet. Once you get past the peat (which I love), there's a sweetness on the back palette that is lovely.
I'm an Islay peat head, but this one is quite friendly to those new to scotch or not in love with some of the more challenging Islays.

Worth the dive!
I originally had low expectations of this, due to cost, 40% ABV, and a few negative reviews, but it is truly a hidden gem. Quite fruity, tangy, and not too much smoke. "Old Pulteney 12" immediately came to mind, which is what it reminded me of first and foremost. Definitely does not drink like a 40% ABV, which could be due to its youth.

Fantastic.
This was a big surprise. Huge smoke and fresh new lumber on the nose, campfire, sea air, a night at the beach, wonderful palate and nose. Flavors of erupting camp fire smoke, Vermont smoked maple syrup, fresh fall leaves and cut birch tree branches. Very tight for a blend and very enjoyable.
