Big Bad Bari Bob
I was given a bottle of this fine blended whisky for my 60th birthday. Normally I have blends with lemonade or use them, for medicinal purposes, in hot toddies but this is definitely worth savouring on its own. It would be interesting to learn which malts Chivas have combined for this excellent "swally". I might even purchase another bottle (in a different colour) when this is finished!

I don't normally do blended whisky but....
.....had this bought for me as a gift. I was for years a Slcottish only whisky snob. After opening my mind to the world of Japanese malts this guard dropped. My last snobbish attitude was towards blended whisky. How wrong could I be? This stuff really is the whisky of dreams, I don't think i have ever sampled a whisky so smooth, drinkable.....yet rich & complex. You even get a blue velvet bag should the need participate in the FA Cup ever occur. Quite simply amazing.

The best bar none...
What can be said that hasn't been so eloquently expressed below...? Buy it, try it, savour it and fall in love with it. Seriously, you will not find a better scotch whisky anywhere!

The Best Scotch I Have Personally Tasted - Including Single Malts
No, I can't determine any "stewed fruits", chocolate, or any of the other imaginaries that the tuxedo tasters detect. But I have enjoyed tasting many fine scotch whiskies thus-far in my journey. Glenlivet 18, Johnnie Walker Blue, Green, and Platinum. (I even liked the OLD JW "Gold" until they stopped making it). Personally, I like a bit of smoke - so Lagavulin 16 was my brand for a while.
So many single malts, I really can't remember them - which is sad, because there are some "greats" out there that deserve mentioning.
Now I can go buy Johnnie Walker "Blue" (if I save up) right now for about $200 a bottle (750ml). BUT - This stuff (Chivas Royal Salute 21 yr old) tops them all! I mean it folks - I'm not a snob. And it IS expensive! But it is the absolute finest scotch whisky I have yet to taste.
The color, the nose, the perfect smoke, the total flavor and finish - THIS is IT!
Now taste is an individual preference, obviously - so if you don't agree that's your right and I respect both it AND you. There are many good scotch whiskies and it is nice to try them all.
But to this day, with my God-given senses - Royal Salute 21 is unbeaten by all others that I have drank. I only wish it was easier to find at my location, (Maryland USA) AND of course - for LESS MONEY!
But regardless of that - I am convinced by my own experience. It is honestly the best scotch and I salute Chivas for producing it.

Stand At Attention
This was my introduction bottle to Chivas and made me purchase the Chivas Regal 25 which became a staple bottle on my shelf. Definitely one of my favorite 21 year olds which is entirely smooth and enjoyable to drink. Smells wonderful in your glass and makes you appreciate the work that went into this blend which was placed inside this beautiful bottle once held in your hands. Put your hand to your hairline and salute.
