A delightful single pot still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year Old is highly praised by a host of notable critics. Distilled at the Midleton site from malted and unmalted barley, it’s then matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts. We can't get enough of this multi-award-winning whiskey.
Nutty, rich and oily. There are notes of dried peels, ginger, linseed and cut fruits including a touch of melon.
Spicy with great body. Nuts and citrus (peel and juice) with hints of marzipan, dried fruits and a hint of Sherry. You turn it over in your mouth forever.
Long and creamy with custard and spice.

I regularly indulge myself into the Irish brands now and again, Jamesons, Teeling and Green Spot. Aswell as the more common variants. But bizarrely enough, i'd never got me a bottle of Redbreast, until now! (Thanks to Master of Malt for the recommendation) Aforementioned regarding previous comments, smooth, creamy with that delicious vanilla and custard, with a hint of toffee flavour had made this my new go to drink.
Smooth and creamy nicest whiskey I've bought in along time this is definitely going to be one I buy again.
I find the nose kinda flat, I get the sweetness a bit of nuttyness. The palate is oily but besides woody spiciness I find it had to pick out more pronounced flavours. Its too balanced for me. I get some sweetness again, some nuts some sherry and a lot of oak spice. The finish I where this one shines for me, leaving nice toffee, rounded, smooth, vanilla warmth. Glad I tried it, but most likely I will not be restocking my bar with this.
As a novice to the whiskey world ,i find it hard to justify spending over 50 euro on a bottle of whiskey when I'm only finding out what I like ,but the moment I drank redbreast 12yr old, I knew what my more knowledgeable friends were on about. It is a complex , sumptuous drop that I savoir rather than just drink.
The intro Redbreast. It starts great and the redbreast range gets better and better the older it goes. Smooth and balanced it’s a fantastic everyday whiskey. Also possibly the only whiskey the wife says she doesn’t mind the smell of.
