A delightful single pot still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year Old is highly praised by a host of notable critics. Distilled at the Midleton site from malted and unmalted barley, it’s then matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts. We can't get enough of this multi-award-winning whiskey.
Nutty, rich and oily. There are notes of dried peels, ginger, linseed and cut fruits including a touch of melon.
Spicy with great body. Nuts and citrus (peel and juice) with hints of marzipan, dried fruits and a hint of Sherry. You turn it over in your mouth forever.
Long and creamy with custard and spice.

Pleasant enough but very similar to Maker's Mark at about £20. The price difference makes it a bit smoother but insufficiently different to stand out for me. Good to have tried it but I am unlikely to buy another bottle.
I watched the YouTube video and then realised this was going to be my next venture into single pot still Irish whiskey‘s. The description of ‘delightful’ to me is a slight understatement. It has a smooth nutty taste that is spicy but not overly with a definite delicate marzipan aftertaste. If you can, leave it in the glass for a few minutes you will be rewarded by the way this wonderful whiskey evolves. Tasted straight (as always). Give this a try.
You get what you pay for. I wasn't quite sure about this Redbreast 12 at first, don't get me wrong I liked it but it was a bit of a new taste which I grew into very quickly. Very smooth, but certainly not bland. Highly recommend.
I was recommended this by an Irish friend who said if I didn’t enjoy it he would buy the bottle off of me! No way! I will drink every last drop and then buy some more.
The go to bottle for introducing people to Irish Whiskey and the go to for a simple sipper anytime you want one, amazing quality for the price point, blows many £100 plus bottles out of the water in my eyes. A must have in any Irish Whiskey collection.
