PUNI 4 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
It's the first ever bottling of whisky from Italy's PUNI Distillery from that Boutique-y Whisky Company, released as part of its Wine Cask Series! This expression is distilled from a combination of malted barley, malted rye, and malted wheat, and has been finished in a Pinot Noir cask, imparting wonderful red fruit and subtly drying spice notes. The label shows off the eye-catching architecture of the PUNI Distillery, though it looks like someone has given it a fresh lick of tartan paint...
Batch 1 is a release of 380 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dried berries – namely strawberry and raspberry. Sweet nutty notes underneath, plus a good helping of vanilla.
Palate
Foam bananas, strawberry bonbons, and white chocolate, balanced by malty notes and a hint of peppery heat.
Finish
Cassia and nutmeg on the finish.
