From Indian single malt brand Indri comes a cask strength single malt named Drú. It was distilled and then matured in bourbon casks in the extreme temperatures of the northern plains of India which had a distinct effect on the maturation process. It was bottled to preserve all that flavour that had been driven by the cask profile and ageing conditions so there's no added colour, it's non-chill-filtered, and is presented at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV.
Butterscotch, desiccated coconut, charred pineapple, and nutmeg.
Crème brûlée, tropical fruit, figs, dark chocolate, tobacco, and banana.
Tangerine and warm spices.
The Dru misses the mark. The high ABV and previous experience with the Trini drew me to it and it seems like they have flooded YT with reviews stating it’s excellent. Simply put it’s not. Go with the Trini (46 abv) and hope this gets better with the next batch.
