The 11th whisky to have been released for the Icons of Wales series of bottlings by Penderyn, which celebrates a significant Welsh person, milestone, or event. In this case, Patagonia remembers when 153 people embarked on the Mimosa, sailing for Patagonia to establish a Welsh colony on 28 July 1865. Today Patagonia, in the southern end of South America, has 50,000 Welsh descendants and 5,000 Welsh speakers.
Penderyn Patagonia was made by marrying Welsh single malt whisky with that of La Alazana Distillery in Patagonia, a farm distillery who were the makers of Argentina’s first single malt when it first launched in November 2011. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
Sweet, floral, and perfumed. Orchard fruits – green apples and sweet pears – vanilla, a light aroma of honey and caramel.
Nicely balanced. Sweet honey, apple tart, and juicy pears with vanilla and light oaky notes. A mix of spices: cinnamon, peppers, and a hint of cloves, together with almonds and creamy toffee.
Dried fruits lingering with sweet spice at the end.

En nariz, te remonta a las praderas de la patagonia austral en primavera. Suave y equilibrado, floral... Si pueden conseguir la expresion Haidd Merleys, se puede encontrar la turba y el ahumado... que recuerda a los bosques andinos de Argentina. Recomendable.
Purchased this because of the price compared to other places and I do enjoy Penderyn, wasn’t disappointed very smooth goes down lovely. Beautiful whisky
