Penderyn Madeira Finish is a single malt Welsh whisky that has been finished in Madeira wine casks. The Penderyn distillery is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, and the whisky is named after the nearby village of Penderyn.
The Penderyn Madeira Finish has a light golden colour and a nose of citrus, honey, and oak. The flavour is sweet and fruity, with notes of orange, lemon, and honey. The finish is long and lingering, with a touch of spice.
Penderyn Madeira Finish is at the heart of the Penderyn range. A beautifully packaged Welsh whisky.
Sweet, medium body. Herbal, vanilla, sweetness, resin, sultanas, toast. Over-ripe grape.
Thick and sweet, spices, green, biscuity. Custard.
Fresh, crisp, spices and stem ginger.

This was such a surprise. Being a whiskey snob I bought it for a laugh.. I was so wrong....
A Welsh whisky? Can't be any good! How wrong I was! There are many good things coming out of Wales (including my three Grandchildren) and this is certainly one of the best.
There are whiskies, then there are whiskies, and this can live with any of them. I was interested in the view that some (perhaps most) of the negative comments are from Bell's drinkers. This is a very valid argument. I have long held the view that Bell's is what they use to disinfect the operating tables in Guy's Hospital.
Great whiskey up there in my book
Loved whisky for 30 years now and drink it quite a bit. This is as good as any of the Single Malt scotch whiskeys. I think some of the negative comments may have come from Bells drinkers.
