Penderyn Legend is a Welsh single malt whisky firstly matured in bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Madeira casks before it's bottled, imparting an intriguing touch of vibrant sweetness. It has been bottled at 41% ABV, slightly lower than the Welsh distillers' other Madeira-cask-finished single malt.

Found it to be like more like a bitter vodka. More like Adnams oak aged vodka. Quite unpleasant taste to me. Have tried to like it but so far my tastes have not become accustomed to it.
This is something else. Saliva glands exploding at the first sip, but getting excited at the nose. So smooth it truly is one to try. No nasty throat burn, just a glide of taste and that warm feeling on the swallow.. I'm no expert but this just floats my boat for a 3 ice cube single.
Penderyn Peated was my first bottle and I loved it. It was an easy 9/10 but this stuff is even better. It's smoothness and creaminess is second to none. it has fresh fruits and vanilla on the nose along with subtle oaky Bourbon notes. I almost thought my bottle had a hole in it as it was going down at an alarming rate. This is simply one of the most well balanced and well constructed single malts I've ever had. The influence from the Buffalo Trace and Madeira casks is clearly evident. This small Welsh distillery is doing miracles and I highly recommend the tour, great value for money. This gets my highest recommendation.
This fine Welsh whisky is well balanced with both madeira and bourbon finishes. Smooth and very drinkable.
Just what I was looking for. really enjoy a Madeira finish but they can become a bit 'much' after a while. the bourbon cask start helps to balance out some of the Madeira to create what I've been waiting for. the fact it's created a few miles from me and having done the 'tour' with full Welsh choir accompaniment makes it almost perfect.
