A particularly flavoursome Indian single malt from the Paul John range. Kanya is an unpeated expression that has been aged in first-fill American white oak casks and bottled at 50% ABV. Only 1,500 bottles were produced.
In Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2018, this expression was awarded a staggering 96 points and the title of Best Asian Whisky 2018!
Peaches in syrup, almond liqueur and a touch of fresh papaya. Creamy vanilla and
Butterscotch, dried apple chips, waves of honey, freshly-cooked waffles coated in butter.
Lightly spiced, though notes of maple syrup and apricot remain.
$32.90 - $74.49
I'm wondering if the competition wrote the bad reviews. This is a fine whisky. Indian whisky ages faster than whisky in Scotland, so it tastes much older than it is. Very complex. Four stars.
Testes more like rye whiskey. Too young and finish too harsh.
I swear people make up the tasting notesd on these things. I would of put this as a £50 bottle. Its got a lot of honey right off and then........ not much. I call this a heart beat taste. Pretty quick bump of taste and then naff all. They have far better whiskeys for less than the price of this. It dont taste bad, it just doesnt taste premium.
pft. Compared to the compitition it is not even near to beat other collections. And the price? I don't have any words to explain how over priced it is considering it's characteristics.
Definitely not in line with the crazy high price it recently jumped to. Their other range is just as good for 1/2 the price.
