Seriously collectible stuff from Buffalo Trace, it's a ten-year-old bourbon from the Old Rip Van Winkle range – bottled pre-Pappy, in 2011.

Unfortunately, the hype around anything with "Winkle" in its name within the last 10 years distorts an unbiased evaluation. Price can create a subliminal reckoning factor when making an appraisal. Therefore I can only offer my hopefully realistic and highly critical palate in giving this product the due respect or lack thereof it possibly deserves. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that ............ it is blooming magnificent!

Cast strength is relative to the position (height in the warehouse-being one aspect) thou many cast strengths are higher as the writer below stated but many can and are in this range
I had a rather large dram of this last night for the first time, and I have to say this stuff is amazing! I personally like it better than the Pappy 15. Great wood and candy scents on the nose, with classic bourbon flavors amplified. It's as if someone just turned up the volume on this one a little more than normal. The result makes it much better than a lot of others out there.
