    Single Malt

    Oban Little Bay

Previously part of their travel retail offering, Oban's Little Bay has graduated to the core range as a 70cl bottling. Master Blenders Dr. Matthew Crow and Dr. Craig Wilson use whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends for this expression before allowing the resultant single malt whisky to marry in small oak casks.

    Finish

    Spiced with cinnamon and ginger.

One of the best “bang for your buck” Scotches

I have never given this Scotch to a guest at my lounge and them not like it. How is this bottle not as popular as it’s old sibling the 14yo. I guess if it was as popular as the 14yo it wouldn’t be a hidden gam and a sign of a real Scotch lover. (My amateur tasting notes) NOSE: light lemon zest, sugar cane, sweet toasted oak, (birthday cake with white frosting) TASTE: honey, spice-cinnamon/nutmeg, salted butter, fruit punch FINISH: refreshing, cooling-mint, lemon, oily

One of the best “bang for your buck” Scotch’s out there

It’s a shame that Little Bay isn’t as popular as they’re old sibling the 14yo. The difference between the two Oban’s, if you haven’t had either one is comparing the two brothers in 1985’s movie The Goonies. Big brother Brandon (Oban 14yo) is a big strong high schooler and because of that things he can solve all the problems with brute force and his looks. Younger brother Micheal (Little Bay) is the true hero of the story (oban’s story) and he dose it by being smart and passionate, using that to solve complex problems. Hahahaha if you have seen the movie you will understand what I mean. (My amateur tasting notes) NOSE: light lemon zest, sugar cane, sweet toasted oak, (birthday cake with white frosting) TASTE: honey, spice-cinnamon/nutmeg, salted butter, fruit punch FINISH: refreshing, cooling-mint, lemon, oily

    Stellar experience

The very finest; beautiful finish of chocolate and orange. Incredible tasting.

    good whisky

smooth and very drinkable. not as complex as the 14yr old. but much cheaper. would buy again if the price doesn't go up.

    It’s ok but nothing special

Bought this for £50 thinking it would stand out from the usual Tesco club card stuff I usually get. The nose seems to be lacking so thought it was going to be all in the taste (from some of the glowing reviews on here have said) but although I initially get that chocolate, it is more the salted caramel that comes through which disappears all too quickly and gives way to a sweet sugar finish. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice but there are plenty of scotches out there that are better for far cheaper. Not tried the 14 year old which many have commented is a better dram so need to try that. Just a bit deflated tbh. Not worth the £45-£50 range. But ok to say you’ve tried it, just don’t expect anything special.
