North British 58yo 1960

Much of the whisky from the North British distillery ends up in popular blends, with a few casks finding their way to independent bottlers. A commercial bottling from North British hasn't happened, even though it was founded back in 1885. However, this has all changed with the release of the North British 58 Year Old Incorporation Edition. Released in collaboration with Douglas Laing, this is the first commercial bottling of North British single grain, and they've started the show with a showstopper. The whisky was matured in a single hogshead cask for a massive 58 years, being laid down in July 1960. Only 222 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Butterscotch, caramelised pineapple and coconut on the nose, with a palate full of toasted oak, cinnamon and cloves; leading to a spiced toffee and molasses finish.
