North British 30 Year Old 1991 (cask 262080) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)

Tremendous single grain Scotch from the North British Distillery matured in a single refill sherry butt! Distilled in 1991, the whisky spent three decades in the cask, until it was independently bottled up by Signatory for its long-running Cask Strength Collection. A total of 442 bottles were released, at an ABV of 51.8% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Orchard blossom, plum syrup, and toasted cereal with wafts of maple syrup and sweet spices developing later on.

Palate

Resinous oak balances dense dried fruits and gristy barley, rounded by buttery notes of toasted almond and floral honey.

Finish

Grassy notes appear beneath the sweet notes of nutty maple and candied fruit, with lingering prickles of cinnamon and pepper.
