The award-winning Nikka Whisky From The Barrel blend is absolutely full of flavour. Bottled at 51.4% ABV. The blend combines both single malt and grain whisky, the majority of which comes from from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries. A huge depth of flavour in this stunning whisky from Japan. We can't recommend this enough.
Medium-body with good balance. There are notes of cut flowers and fresh fruits, spice, and a little oak.
Full-bodied and punchy. There is plenty of winter spice and toffee, a little caramel and vanilla, and a good mouthful of fruit.
Long, warming and fruity with a little oaken spice.

Nicest blend I tasted, Grouse and Bells don’t come close
i have tried a lot of expensive and aged whisky lately and for the price, blend balance, pure enjoyment and yes, complexity I can see why Japanese whiskey is so in demand. It's not Japanese over scotch, its just pockets of sensory discovery that provide moments of life enjoyment and this whiskey is one of them... for sure... A defo in my dram collection going forward.
My new favorite! I love Scottish single malts (e.g. Balvenie 12, Macallan, etc.) but doing a side-by-side tasting, I have to admit that I prefer the Nikka; it's just way more interesting and complex.
I bought this for my husband as a change for Christmas. at first he was a bit surprised and unsure by the strong taste of the whisky but now he would rate it as one of his favourites, to be enjoyed as a treat rather than an every day drink.
This is a bit of a nothing whisky. It's easy to drink as it's very uncomplicated and there isn't a lot going on to distinguish it from other average blends
