The 22nd bottling from The Heart Cut is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from the fabulous New Riff! Created from a mash bill of 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley, it's a small batch blend of three new American oak casks brought together for us by the distillery's master blender.
This is the first bourbon that the relentless award-winning independent bottlers have selected. Like The Heart Cut, New Riff is a family-owned enterprise that has made a big splash in a small amount of time. Just 1,035 bottles were filled at 52% ABV.
Honey-roasted nuts, ripe apples, marmalade, and buttery toffee lead. Then black cherries, Parma Violets, and winter spice.
Golden syrup, orchard fruit, buttery pastries, raspberry, caramel, and gentle cinnamon warmth.
Nutty warmth and creamy vanilla linger.
