An independent bottling of Mortlach single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 25 years in a single Sherry butt. This was distilled in May 1991 and bottled in June 2016 by Signatory as part of their excellent Cask Strength Collection. 594 bottles were produced.
Thick notes of chocolate-coated dates and stewed plums. Rather meaty, with a touch of tobacco leaf tucked away.
Big Sherried spice notes with a good helping of of clove and black pepper too. Still chocolatey and rich in dried fruit.
Lingering heat, with a touch of dark chocolate too.
