Marvellous Mortlach single malt, independently bottled by Signatory for its Un-Chillfiltered Collection. Rested for a dozen years between 2009 and 2022 in a trio of hogshead casks, absolutly no added colour, and none of that chill-filtration malarky went on with this one.
Charred marzipan and toasted oak with hints of burnt brown sugar leading to nutty, biscuity malt.
Buttery vanilla fudge, floral wafts of citrus blossom, and light honey with a kick of earthy clove and green walnuts building behind the scenes.
A splendid finish of earthy nuts, spicy oak, fresh ginger, and just a smidge of brine.
