Smoky Israeli single malt, single cask whisky here from the folks at M&H Distillery. The peaty quality of this expression doesn't come from the barley, but the from the cask it was matured in, which previously contained smoky Islay whisky.
Tinned peaches, digestive biscuits, floral honey, and smoked oak.
Plenty of citrus and ripe orchard fruits blend with vanilla, cocoa, nectarine, and earthy smoke.
Barrel char, salty peat, and honey flapjacks.
Really nice whisky, well described by the tasting notes. Hard to believe it’s under five years old--not that it’s complex, it just doesn’t taste young (to me). True, £75 is a lot, but then you’re getting an extra half a bottle thrown in given that it’s 67%!
