Each batch of Barrel Strength Straight Rye whiskey from Michter's is bottled at natural cask strength after having been filled at 103 proof. The Michter's team fills these casks at a lower strength than the industry standard, as they believe that this leads to a smoother, richer whiskey, even though there are greater costs for casks and storage.

Nose
Cooked berries, burnt oak, caramelised dates and a hint of cassia.
Palate
Cinder toffee, heavy rye spice with some oily grain texture, cinnamon gum and melted butter.
Finish
Lasting peppery heat and a hint of smoke.
