This right here is a limited release single malt whisky from the Cotswolds Distillery, which has been produced for Magdalen College – if you're familiar with university college crests, you'll have likely spotted the Magdalen College crest on this one's label. The whisky itself is an English single malt made with locally-grown barley which has been floor malted, and after distillation, it's been aged in ex-bourbon and ex-red wine casks, helping to develop its flavour profile and impart warming notes of vanilla and red fruit.
Rounded caramel and barley, followed by sweeter hints of almond and cherry. Subtly spicy hints of cinnamon and white pepper.
Zesty marmalade and a smidge of raspberry coulis, enjoyably creamy, with subtle touches of oak spiciness fluttering by.
Lasting vanilla warmth on the finish.
