The Invermallie range from the distillery showcases single casks, and number 49 sees the whisky matured in a recharred Portuguese red wine barrique. With a limited outturn of 150 individually numbered bottles, this is a splendidly berried whisky.

Nose
Oaky vanilla, with fresh cherries, a touch of marzipan, and molasses.
Palate
Barley sugar sweets, blackberries, a touch of treacle, cocoa nibs, and warm spices.
