Wine Cask
From Macaloney's Caledonian distillery in Canada comes this single malt, single cask whisky. The Invermallie range from the distillery showcases single casks, and number 49 sees the whisky matured in a recharred Portuguese red wine barrique. With a limited outturn of 150 individually numbered bottles, this is a splendidly berried whisky.
Oaky vanilla, with fresh cherries, a touch of marzipan, and molasses.
Barley sugar sweets, blackberries, a touch of treacle, cocoa nibs, and warm spices.
Fruitcake, and spices building.
