Signatory
Scotland
Single Malt
A 19-year-old single cask Longmorn, bottled by Signatory as part of their esteemed Cask Strength Collection.
Wild and surprisingly young-smelling. Green fruit with a floral note. Lime, grapefruit, green tea. Banana and shoe polish.
Strong citric oak, light floral vanilla from the oak, and a touch or caramel but not that sweet. Rose petals, and grapefruit.
Long and lemony and drying.
A very interesting whisky with a dry characterful flavour.

I can't say it's much better than the OP - I kept the bottle around for a few weeks as I couldn't bear to get rid of the scent. Just sniffing it served a purpose. An instant classic and yes, I think I'll buy two.
Nose = Super sweet toffee. Vanilla, malt. Bit of spice. Woody, almost like a saw dust. Spice! Last dregs of this delightful and wonderful spirit = pervasive woody. Like I'm smelling the soul of the cask itself. The smell and character of this whisky was just divine. A joy to behold and something all whiskies should be forced to attempt to hold their candle too. It's soul and character remained to the very last drop (~11.50 Aug 31 2012, literally)… a drop which I enjoyed with every fiber of my being… <drinks last drop, I kid you not>. I eeked this out over a full year. Next time I'd buy two.
