Released to promote Longmorn as a super premium single malt maker, this edition replaced the previous 15 year old. The relaunch was certainly effective as a means to display the distillery's unique Speyside character, as this superb 16 year old was distilled using natural ingredients from the surrounding area, including local spring water, barley from Moray and peat from nearby sources. Just lovely.
Fresh and green. Notes of apple peel and bramley apple, hints of citrus and herbal notes. There are some notes of balsa wood, calvados and plenty of dry oaken tannins.
Rich and compact. Notes of lemon zest and a leafy greenness. A good level of tannins develops with a vinous character and spice. The oak is dry and full.
Long and dry with a zesty quality.

My favourite. Hands down. Strangely, not many people have heard of it. Last holiday season I was able to secure the one and only bottle available in the entire province of Ontario, Canada. So, pick it without blinking... or it will be gone :)
Recently bought a bottle of this at the airport. I was pleasantly surprised as other 'punts' at an airport have not ended well. I would agree with the description MoM has on it's site and as a drinker on generally Speyside/Irish I found very satisfying, it has all the up front fruit I like and would agree with the tannins comments but for me the finish was a little sweeter than described. Would recommend and will be savour ever last measure!!
outstanding! this is one scotch I replace before I run out.
My first taste, I was left a little underwhelmed not quite getting it but this was during a taster session involving multiple whiskies. A few days later, tried again and noticed the rich complex spice and velvety body. Couldn't think of another whisky quite like it. The other night watched a movie and had a few drams with ice and it just rocked. Very classy and I think maybe one of those that almost needs to breathe a little in order to peak. Giving it residency status in my cabinet. I can see myself drinking this one for many years.
The author of the comment "Not very impressed, still nice though". A long while after the other comment, the development in the bottle which is now about .65 left of original content. The flavor has become increasingly complex and sweet with a very interesting "development" which to me taste like malty oak etc, the finish is longer now and almost assumes a slight licorice and anise taste. Further the aroma has developed a nice fresh apple juice note to it.
