A single malt from the Highlands. Named for the notorious Loch Ness, one of Scotland's most popular tourist attractions and home to the mysterious Loch Ness Monster.
Star fruit and parma violet candy.
Toast, digestive biscuits and fresh cut grass.
Dry hay with a hint of smoke seeping through.
What better drink to keep you warm as you peer through a pair of binoculars hoping to see the world's most elusive monster!
I bought a bottle of this in Scotland in 2006, and back in Australia it took me 6 years to get around to drinking it! But when I did what a pleasant surprise. Smooth, sweet, just lovely. I'm not going to waffle on about the hints of citrus, and the smoky aftertaste etc..... I am not a seasoned drinker but I know what I like. For those who like a good 'kick' this not for you, it goes down smooth and easy, no aftershock, but no headache at all the next day either. Wish I had another bottle.
For a 10 year old single malt, there is nothing to write home about. It is what it is... a genuine, pleasant, unobtrusive example of this genre. Soft and subtle and good value for A$60.
