High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

This is the most stomach-churning whiskey I've ever tasted. Cruelly, the initial flavour hit is remarkably enticing, and for 1.5 seconds you'll believe you've coiffed something of quality. Then the midtones of pure pound-store perfume kick in, and with a vengeance: we're not talking about aromas here, soon it tastes like a mix of musk oil, parazone toilet cleaner and sodium laureth sulfate. It escalates from there, becoming more ascerbic through it's exceedingly long finish; a good minute later, you are in no doubt that you've tasted something unfit for consumption. Truly odious liquid. Review written while disgusted at having taken a short measure, as it unfolded. ymmv.
85/100
Nicely done blend, not as earthy as most scotch, caramely with a nice lite touch of smoke, surprisingly smooth and tasty. Great choice for the price.
The best whisky since Laphroaig.
I'm still sipping my first round while writing this review There are better scotches, and there are plenty worse However, I'll say this beats JW red, and Dewars hands down May not be glen or chivas 18, However....in the quality per dollar category This scotch wins Don't get me wrong, a $25 shot of JW blue really ain't that impressive and it's more of just a boisterous and gaudy gesture This scotch has everything you need in one
