Littlemill 27 Year Old 1991 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) 47.2%

We've gone and bottled up a 27 year old single malt from the Littlemill Distillery! Though now sadly closed, Littlemill produced some fantastic whiskies during is time (the distillery dates back to 1772, meaning it could well be the oldest Scotch whisky distillery - find out more about this over on our blog), and we've got our hands on an absolute gem. This one was distilled in January 1991 and was matured in a single bourbon barrel until November 2018, when we bottled it up without any chill-filtration or additional colouring.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Light and estery with pear, sherbert lemons and soft peaches, then sugared almonds, crystallised ginger, marzipan and a little herbal element.

Palate

The palate has a soft, creamy and sweet start, with vanilla syrup, butterscotch and plenty of tropical fruit, which then make way for a touch of drying spice and some blackberry compote.

Finish

Baking spices linger alongside hazelnut whip, more dark fruits and a final lick of vanilla.
