A gorgeous indie Linkwood courtesy of James Eadie! This Speysider was distilled in November 2009, and filled into a trio of re-charred hogsheads where it stayed for a decade. Eventually it was bottled in 2020 in a release of 1,159 bottles for the Small Batch series, with heaps of juicy citrus and spices to be enjoyed.
Cinnamon spice and orange peel, with apple blossom and set honey.
More of that orange, but juicier now, with salted caramel, mace and tinned pear.
Toasted nuts and cinnamon sugar linger alongside more citrus.

I'm a huge fan of the Linkwood so I was delighted to receive this at Christmas. Even more delighted on tasting. Alas, it's halfway down the bottle already
This is a Linkwood 10yr old bottled at 46% by James Eadie. Aged in recharged hogsheads gives big bourbon notes of Vanilla, Caramel and Berry fruits. Lovely rich, strong and juicy dram this from one of the best distilleries around. Alas the blenders know this and most of it goes into blends. Personally I think a small drop of water improves this. struth
MoM tasting notes are spot on. I've tasted the tangerine flavour in whiskies like Glen Elgin and Balvenie previously but this is definitely orange. It's perilously smooth, even at 46% but opens up well with a drop of water. All in all, a lovely dram to sip at this time of year.
