Created by Distillery Manager John Campbell, Laphroaig Lore is said to be the richest ever Laphroaig! Named after the skills passed down over the generations, this permanent addition to the range is matured in a combination of casks including first fill Sherry butts and quarter casks and is said to contain some of their "most precious stock".
Pungent peat smoke and seaside minerals with a hint of ash and chocolate.
Lively with hints of bitter chocolate, ash and a spicy chili bite.
Short, dry finish with a lingering sweet aftertaste.

As a devotee of the 10 YO since 1983, I was expecting something really special from the bottle my son brought back from America. But not so; not too bad on the nose, but the palate just didn't live up to the promise of the label. Maybe my palate is jaded with age at 78.
Those who can afford this bottle will be treated to Laphraoig's complex sweet and savory notes that are far more mellow than the offerings found in the Ten Year and Quarter Cask. Velvet on the tongue and Laphraoig in the heart.
Smoother and more refined than the 1815 but still a nice crashing wave of peat and ash. A drop of water expresses the citrousy undertones. Not as blown away as I’ve been with the Ardbeg Correvreckan or Kelpie, but hell of a dram nonetheless
Best Laph I had so far...
Love it
