Blended
Scotland
Label 5
Label 5 Classic Black, is a very well known (particularly in France) blended Scotch whisky, made with a hearty helping of fruity Speyside malts at its core. A great value blend.
Rather sweet with vanilla and sticky toffee pudding. Hints of ginger and cinnamon.
Apples, pears and a subtle grassy note or two. A little citrus and caramel.
A clean finish with lemon zest and brown sugar.

If you can find this at a good price or on sale then give it a go, it is a decent inoffensive and smooth scotch, nearly a match (and sometimes better) for bigger 'name' branded blends. That said, it does leave me wanting more complexity as the finish is very short indeed in my opinion, but I can still happily drink it neat, although I'm sure it would really shine as a mixer.
It's an excellent substitute for Johnny Walker Red. Rocks, splash of water. G00d stuff.
Only fit for mixing with something else to destroy the chemical smell and taste. So nasty I don't know what to do with the rest of the bottle. Awful. Buy almost anything else instead.
Bought this a couple of months ago at Morrisons when it's on offer. As I am a beginner to whisky I find it easy to drink. Does any one have problem with the bottle top or is it just me? It can never screw tight, it just goes on and on...
By no means a super whisky, but one does not expect spectacular things from a cheap blend. Being exactly that, this is one of the best cheap blends one is likely to find. It seems to be more matured and have a higher malt content than most big brand blends, certainly a better buy than Red Label or J&B Rare.
