A 2018 release from Islay's Kilchoman distillery, initially matured in bourbon barrels before being moved over to casks that previously held Sauternes wine. Within these sweet wine casks the whisky rests for a five months before being bottled at 50% ABV. The combination of earthy smoke from the peated spirit and intense fruit notes from the cask is absolutely wonderful indeed.
Apricot, BBQ pineapple and salted citrus peels, with just a hint of baked earth.
Quince jam, oatcakes, grassy peat and green apple boiled sweeties.
Sea salt, raspberry, candied ginger.

A SUPERB WHISKY AND A UNIQUE TASTE
Good malt. Good casks. Bottled at 50% without chill-filtration. Great stuff!
Great and well balanced. A wonderfull edition. Love the change from cask matured to finish for a better balance
My son took me to the Kilchoman distillery several years ago as he works for a touring company in Edinburgh and I bought a bottle of this beautiful whisky. It is the best Iv'e ever tasted in 40 years, absolutely stunning, very palatable. I hope to be back to the Kilchoman distillery very soon.
