The much adored Noah's Mill bourbon here, made with a mash bill of 72% corn, 13% rye, and 15% barley. This expression is bottled at a very generous 57.2% ABV - a drop of water does help bring some of the rich fruity notes to the fore, while it's earthy, resinous depth ought to shine in an Old Fashioned.
Heavy treacle and vanilla, dusted with plenty of cinnamon. Notes of forest floor and earthy oak nestle beneath.
Ginger, black pepper, honey-drizzled sponge cake and cooked pear, with resinous oak and subtle hints of dried herbs.
Honey-roasted nuts, sharp green apple, another kick of pepper, and a touch of damp earth.
Having had this before knowing it was pleasant I purchased the bottle again despite the reviews of a ‘bad batch’. I received and opened the bottle yesterday and shared as a birthday drink and it was foul. Tasted like it came from a rotten barrel and was simply not drinkable. The drinks were thrown down the sink. MOM made aware and have assured this is not the case and everything is fine with the bottle however it is definitely not! Beware when purchasing!!!
Noah's Mill is up there with some of the best bourbons I've tried. However, I agree with the the latest reviews. The latest batch (23-04) which circulating is undrinkable. It tastes foul and I suspect it's been contaminated with mould. I've made the MoM team aware and hopefully it will be back to it's usual standard very soon
This is one of the best bourbons out there. However they have a mouldy batch currently, which explains the 'confused' review. Tastes like mud. I still have some of the old batch which is amazing. Noah's mill you need to pull this dodgy batch. It's giving you a bad name.
Distinctly opposite to the reviews received...I bought 3 bottles of this for myself and 2 friends...and it is not good...whilst the immediate taste maybe good then pallette and after taste is mouldy leaves. I won't buy again or recommend
I found this very mediocre. It has a fresh aftertaste. I doubt I will buy again. Never say die is far superior
