A single malt made up of different ages, 13 percent of which is said to be heavily peated... It turns out Stevie was wrong, Superstition is the way!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Initial gristy cereal gives way to evocative smoke and heady malt. It’s quite sweet and creamy, and reminds us of Chantilly cream.
Sweet and porridge-like. A cereal fest on the tongue, with hints of white pepper and black forest honey with hot buttered toast. Light and oily.
Medium length with cocoa and rice paper with hints of honey and spice on the tail.

Even though I'm not a fan of whiskeys (or any other drink) that is too sweet, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I find it has strong hits of honey, well balanced and not overly sweet.
I normally like peaty malts. I have also enjoyed Jura (which I don't recall as particularly peaty) in the past. This particular Jura version is, I suspect, a triumph of marketing over content. It is not very pleasant - quite rough for a single malt. I notice that no age is given, so perhaps it is very young. Get yourself a bottle of Aldi Highland Black 8-year old blended instead - it is much better and will save you ten quid. We'll probably be flambéing the Xmas pud with whisky this year unless Tesco accept a return.
Yummy! Not perfect, but yummy. A little too sweet on the palate. It really starts with a nice, light peatiness on the nose with a touch of sweet to mellow it. On the tongue the sweet takes over, which is a bit disappointing, but it tastes like toast. I was reminded of sprinkles on toast all the way thorugh. It has a nice warm glow to the alcohol, but doesn't command attention. Aftertaste has decent length, mostly of chocolate and more honey-sweetness. A little too sweet in the aftertaste, maybe with a hint of cardamom or similar spice. I liked it and would consider buying a bottle except the after taste turned bitter over time.
First taste of jura's whisky and it is delicious. This might be my new favorite dessert dram super creamy with lots of chocolate and coffee. Not super peaty but it is there and theres also a nice little hint of seasalt that lets you know it was aged by the sea. Can't wait to try prophecy
Very nice single malt. Easy to drink and a very interesting smokey finish!
