A single malt made up of different ages, 13 percent of which is said to be heavily peated... It turns out Stevie was wrong, Superstition is the way!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Initial gristy cereal gives way to evocative smoke and heady malt. It’s quite sweet and creamy, and reminds us of Chantilly cream.
Sweet and porridge-like. A cereal fest on the tongue, with hints of white pepper and black forest honey with hot buttered toast. Light and oily.
Medium length with cocoa and rice paper with hints of honey and spice on the tail.

Ok, look... I know, all right?! I really do know. This is not literally "The Best Whisky in the World"... But it is the best whisky I had so far, OK?! I've been trying to taste a new dram every week now for some time and I had some pricey ones and some... less expensive ones (don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, I mean those which you usually find at your local "Open 'Till Late" shop on the top shelf where they've aged just perfectly in the miasma of daily curry lunch and expired advent calendars from Christmas 2005). I don't know what it was, it might have been the perfect setting of that particular evening - the subtle lighting of the study room or the scent of old books and armchair leather but this whisky had a deep and unforgettable impact over me... like no other so far. I won't deny that the external environment doesn't play an important role in the *whisky experience* and one's perception of it is most likely subjective but even now after having tried it again and other whiskys I can honestly say: "Best whisky ever!"
A bit too sweet, too smooth, too bland, and has a ridiculously artificial colour. Not as distinctive as the original Jura some years ago. I understand that market segmentation is done to maximise profit, but I feel that Jura's quality has suffered since it was fragmented into so many different sub-brands.
I started with drinking whisky not too long ago and try tasting everything. But where I favour smokiness and peated with natural flavours this one tastes like somebody added flavours. I miss the natural touch other whisky's like Ardbeg or Kilchoman and Millstone have in their more aged bottles. But within the three Jura ranges Origin, Diurach's own and this one it isn't all bad. Just don't pay more then 25 Euros.
Rökig, maltig whisky likt Prophecy. Mer lättdrucken, vet dock inte om det var positivt. Neutral, även denna för dyr.6/10
I've tried a lot of single malts and this one is up there with the best, if your palette is right then you will enjoy this lean and racy whiskey that gives you a unique sensation. Jura! Keep it up.
